19th Century Tableau Project

These are some photos I took of the final result of the project we’ve been working on since November. This has been a collaboration between Scenic Art, Scenic Construction, Props, Costume, Technical Production Management and Stage Management.

The Victorian window was made by Scenic Construction and painted by Scenic Art. The back cloth behind the window was painted by Scenic Art as well as the landscape painting on the wall. The gild frame was made by Props, along with the turkey, both Christmas puddings, the goose, the Jack-in-the-Box, various food and the 3DĀ moldingĀ on the top of each window column. The costumes were incredible but aren’t shown here and the rest was sourced by Stage Management.

I was personally responsible for painting the three panels on the bottom of the window as well as helping to paint the window in full and age it. I also helped with the brick flooring on the second tableau.

The first setting is meant to represent a middle-class family dining room whereas the second is mean to represent Tiny Tim and his families table.

We’ll be putting on 3 minute performances in each one a Central School of Speech and Drama in Swiss Cottage, London from 3-7pm tomorrow so come along and see! :)
